Message from chairman

Dear All,

SAMMAN is collective idea of professionals from different fields i.e. psychologist, social worker, development expert, spiritual motivator, lawyers, management experts & so on to manage street begging in sustainable ways. There are different factors to cause begging i.e. homeless, illiteracy, long-term disability, lack of skill, and lack of government & family support system. According to WHO reports, majority of global suicidal cases are related to poverty. In Nepal, more than 4000 adults commit suicide every year which are related to poverty, alcoholism, domestic violence & love-related adjustment problems, according to Nepal Police findings. The suicide cases can increase the number of homeless, uncared for & delinquent children. It will deform their personality as well as pose a challenge to social stability. SAMMAN will focus its services on those targeted population in preventive, curative & rehabilitative level with public/government partnership. It will apply maximum options to identify his/her potentiality, train them & rehabilitate in the community. Their changes will be followed up & filed until full integration.

SAMMAN will be a platform for many professionals to observe & study integrated/holistic model of rehabilitation for poor/marginalized, deprived & disheartened individuals. Every transformation counts us to know how heartbroken, neglected, rejected & frustrated people transform into productive members of the society. SAMMAN is a continuous journey to empower inner qualities. It is our great pleasure to unveil our website for public & all stakeholders concerned. It is a milestone to disseminate our mission, vision, immediate plans & ongoing activities.

At the moment, we are passing through hard times. Worldwide Covid 19 pandemic is pushing people almost backwards. In Nepal, people of low socio-economic status & wage laborers are the most vulnerable to hitting street. They are under big economic & psychosocial stress. We want to intervene in cases of gender-based violence, hopelessness & suicidal crisis & transform individuals into productive members of the society. We want to connect government bodies, civil society, potential organizations & generous individuals with those needy people & create an atmosphere of loving & caring society.

Let’s come together, feel dignified by supporting people in need. Stay safe, happy & active!
